In-situ version in the gardens of the Institut Français in Tokyo (solo exhibition)
The subway (here, in Tokyo) is a two-headed monster.
Beneath the city, its network of corridors turns passengers into flows of obedient bodies.
Above ground, the tracks, like serpents, slither between buildings, wrapping around and imprisoning the urban landscape.
This labyrinth has neither a center nor a Minotaur.
It is a monstrous mechanism of control, a mirror of our addiction to endless productivity gains, constant surveillance, and the rationalization of our every action.

Depending on the space and context of the exhibition, photographs and videos are either fragmented across a wall of screens or integrated into sculptures with neon lights and metal bars.
As part of his solo exhibition at the Institut Français in Tokyo, Guillaud transformed the Japanese garden, overlooking hills of high-rise buildings.
Fifteen small screens float in the night like fireflies, projecting faces trapped in the underground of the metro.
These small screens are caught between two large structures:
On one side, iron-rod sculptures, projectors created in-situ.
On the other, large-scale videos derived from passenger flow control software.
